Very nice list of wines and tasty finger food. We felt very comfortable and met some nice people.
It's not cheap, but this is Geneva...

I went to Le Rouge et Le Blanc for the first time with friends recently. They have a great location on the water and it was warm enough to enjoy their terrasse. Overall, I thought it was great...the inside looked like a cozy place to go at night and the service was very pleasant (we all ordered wine, so there weren't any discussions like the other reviewer had). The terrasse was packed and it seemed like all the other guests were treated at least pleasantly and there was a mixture of French and English speakers.
The wine does cost a bit, but they have excellent wine by the glass that you can taste before having. For the price, you also get a tapas plate with goodies and they come around frequently to offer bits of whatever the chef has just conjured up for finger food. Factor that in to the price of the glass + location + ambience and it's almost reasonable for Geneva. Overall, I would definitely recommend it for those looking to enjoy a great glass of wine and a view of the lake and who aren't on a tight budget.

This restaurent SEEMS lovely... ideal situation, right on the waterfront.... LOTS of wine to choose from, 2 locations, if you look online at their menus, they look quite yummy (although pricey...but hey apparently they got a michelin star?)

I went there last saturday night around 10:30-11pm with a friend, was tired. After we sat down, the owner (it seemed, placed two empty wine glasses in front of us and asked us what we wanted. She ordered her usual, Aligote. I ordered a coffee. He told me I could not have coffee, that coffee was only after you had dinner, needed to have wine. Coke zero? nope. Coka light? nope. Regular coke, sparkling water, water or wine is all the this establishment was serving. " Nous sommes un Bar a Vin!" he told me, very rudely.
Since I wasn't having alcohol, I drank my water, bitterly.

The girls one table over from us, were however enjoying their wine, but not their wine's pricetag.... so they asked for a "bigger glass" - fair question I thought....
Well Mister Wine bar owner guy... was insulted! he told them a 1dl pour was the UNIVERSAL standard and repeated that 3 times....and that it was set in brussels or something...and it was like that ALL OVER THE WORLD.... and gave them really dirty looks like how dare they order a bigger glass of wine!

So I guess, unless you are a huge wine snob, avoid.
