Royal India restaurant in Geneva.... nowhere near royal. Facts?
Entree 1 - 5 Mix Grill (I should have taken a picture :) several small pieces of chicken, prawn, lamb and salmon, cold, surrounded by bits of shredded lettuce from yesterday (18 francs)
Main 1 - Vindaloo prawns with potatoes (supposedly very spicy)... Came in a tiny portion, barely warm, no sign of potato or spice. When asked where's the potato gone, the dish was taken back to the kitchen and came back 15 minutes later with half of under-cooked chopped potato in it.
Main 2 - chicken Tikka Masala (supposedly spicy, with coconut cream) came sweet, made with dairy cream, no coconut, no spice.
No appetizers that make Indian restaurants feel so friendly, no atmosphere. Spent over 2 hours just for 1 entree and 1 main course, we did not even want to think about deserts, just to pay and get out (the restaurant was not even half-full). The only positive point is the lady that served, she really tried hard but I guess one needs some training to do it right.
Not going back.
P.S. Apparently they have ups and downs, as Nir told me, so I might have been there at the wrong time.
P.S.2 I've been spoilt by really great Indian food in the UK and in Asia.

The food would get 5 stars, that's for sure. But the atmosphere and decor are really in serious need over an overhaul. It doesn't need to be hip and trendy, but this doesn't really look right. And than there is the service. The lady really tried hard, but - taking away plates whilst the other person is still eating, asking 3 times if we where done etc.etc. Again the food is very nice, and seriously fresh, but it needs some work done, and please, do get a serious waiter, or get the nice lady on a course!

"very nice food, the chef really makes spicy original food without cream , on request. *just say u have been to india"
