Pretty nice place, always easy to get into. Barely any line, you can come at any time, 12.00, 2.00 or 3.00. I would advise not to come before 1.00 though, since the place starts to get crowded only after 12.30-1.00.
Low prices for being geneva, and relaxed and laid back ambiance.
Downside: some shade people and half empty at times.

It's too bad it's so hard to get in this place and the bodyguards act like such assholes at the door because the inside is really great. The ground floor is a bar with nice techno music and the dance-floor is upstairs, exceptional as most clubs I've been to have the dance floors downstairs. As far as music is concerned, this is the best club I've been to. The music will want to keep you dancing all night long.

If you come in small groups, like twos or threes, you're more likely to get in, but it's not a 100% percent certainty.

I have been in Geneva for nearly 4 years and never had a problem with getting into SIP. I am not a "beauty"... I am not " well dressed, in expensive clothes" ... I am not "important" at all. I am "average." In fact, I have taken many friends, who usually do not get in anywhere! ... with no problems to get in.
Rule no 1: Go before 12.
Rule no. 2: Be NICE to the doormen! They are human beings and not monsters! They are only doing their jobs trying to make sure there is no trouble inside and keep a certain profile of person inside, as they are told to do so from their management. It is not personal.
Rule no. 3: All your 25 mates are NOT ging to get into any nightclub all togther, unless you are sleeping with the manager, are personal friends or have paid a huge amount of cash!!!
However... SOLUTION! Go in as separate groups of 3 or 4's. In couples are better and works.
Rule no 4: Try to make a bit of an effort in your appearance. I have often seen people wearing the same clothes that they go shopping in, go jogging around the lake, a day's skiing or moving house, trying to enter SIP. It is not going to happen!
Rule no 5: If you think you will not get in... you will not get in! Confidence and eye contact!
PS: I am not sleeping with anyone who works or owns the SIP, nor do I work or get paid from the SIP! ;)

Not very exciting about this place, but if compare with other night clubs in Geneva, it's one of the best :)
Like the crowd and music, but sometimes it's not easy to get in, depends on bouncers...

Decent club, musics ordinary, prices are ok, crowds okay... but then for all that u gotta get in.. & got to hand it to u guys for the rather wierd door policy.. didnt quite get what the hint of *color selection at the door* meant?? i got in the 2 odd times i went there and then i stopped clubbing.. attaining Nirvana means forgoing eartly pleasures.... :-)

"I have never had the chance to enter this place. I have been denied access on 4 occasions. Shoes wrong, clothing wrong - What is wrong with you SIP? Some soul searching required and improvements needed."

"This is the best place in town (without making any comparisons), crowd is nice: No kids jumping, No prosts, No need to be over dressed - jeans and shirt. I like their door policy: went there 10 times in last 6 weeks (a lot of times alone to join friends inside) and didn't have a single chat with any bouncer. No need to showoff with your bottle of Vodka with all the firework that comes with (like in other lousy places), no need to pay at the door. You have the choice between a drink in lounge or in the club upstairs, well priced (A beer for 10 francs in SIP and 25 francs in the other places)"

"Nice place: neither too snobbish nor too underground; gets really crowded and smoky. Still didn't change: groups of 3 or 2, best to go before midnight - no lines to get in and silly things to deal with!"

"la SIP = “Soul Influenced Product”
go before midnight or be scrutinized at the door"

"Could be good, but really idiotic bouncers with no sense of business. Speciality of splitting up groups of friends and giving rediculous excuses to refuse entrence... pity as the crowd is quite good. I just know I will never plan to go there because of their door policy... Can you tell they winded me up again recently???"

"I've had a great time in here (and considering it is sometimes the only place open late, it is a much appreciate GVA spot). Drinks are low-priced. A bit warm upstairs. ... and NEVER go there with a group of more than 2 or 3 people - or they will auto-reject you (split into groups). Once I went with a gorgeous African girlfriend, and they wouldn't allow her in (therefore I left too). :("

"Love the place! It's got a cool venue and the music is great! No hardcore trance and no 3y/o tracks that aren't old enough to be cool! I love that you can go downstairs and talk, get a drink etc. and when you feel like it go back up again! I know they can be quite selective at the door, BUT I'm sorry to say; If you don't wanna try to make an effort, when you're going out and rather wear flip flops to a nightclub, then Sip isn't the place for u! And I actually think it's fair enough. Sip is already a bit more relaxed in the dress code, then e.g. Java.
Sip is a good thing in between. Try it!"

went there once and didnt get in. random door policy - obviously didnt like the look of me or something. well im sorry but i dont want to be spending money where they dont let you in because of what you look like. way to pretentious. and the friends that took me there was raving to me about how good it was. shame.

"One of the best place .
- Closes at 5 am.
- No entrance fee.
- Correct price
- All kind of ages.
- 5 minutes far from home :)

But sometime difficult to enter. Follow the following rules :
- Make a small group ( no more than 4)
- Make you known from the bouncers
- Dress corectly but not extravagant."

"One of my favourite places in Geneva because:
-free entrance
-normal prices on drinks
-cool people inside (not to pretentious, not too young etc)
-trendy music, no precise type
-Good atmosphere and nice space"

"Face checking at entrance door depends on the sensibility of the anabolized-machos sitting there. If you are not allowed in, they ask you for SIP membership card. My advice: go and dance salsa in Barrio Latino or L'Events. You are welcomed there, independently of whether your shoes are trendy or not"

I like the place - if you want to dance and have fun - go there with a few friends and a nice evening is guaranteed. If bored of dancing - go down to the first floor and have a drink. Its an ok place to hang out - no surprises. Lines at the 'vestiaires' betw 1-2 are bothering.

"Not the hot spot it used to be when it opened, but still one of a kind in GVA. No teens, night bar, girls smiling when they serve you. Good in my book."

"Ridiculously unprofessional admittance policy. Once you manage to get in, it's hot and moisty on crowded nights: staircase is only place you can breathe properly. Personally not my favorite music, I found the atmosphere quite sad. Nights I was there deejays skills were average/low. Lame and boring interior design (although not too bad for Geneva).
A good point is that it's free but I'd rather spend more in a place where I can actually have fun and don't need a shower after 1/2 hour."

"Can't say if the bouncers are racist, but for sure the door policy has nothing to do w/ style. Once u're in there, u'll see a bunch of boring people dancing to crappy mainstream music. Pros: no cover and the place is pretty big, so chances are u'll meet someone u know. Also, the downstairs area has ok lounge music."

"This is the only club in Geneva I still like to go from time to time... good mix of people of all ages, great bar area where you can actually chat and meet people, free entrance and reasonably priced drinks. I agree that the door policy is a bit sloppy but if you go there early when it is not too crowded yet, there is no problem getting past the bouncers."

"This place is bourgeois Geneva personified. Sensible and boring. No-one really looks like they are having fun. Admittedly the space downstairs is great for a pre-club drink, but upstairs it's certainly not a proper disco, the bar takes up the whole dancefloor and the DJ is pretty poor. As for the door policy, I've never had any problem. Just pretend to be predictable, sensible and a bit coinc? and you'll get in."

"SIP is the classic disco to go out in Geneva. Drink prices are ok, crowd is trendy, 25-35 and the entrance is free.

However the bouncers are random and the music is the same everynight. If the bouncers were cooler it could be a 4 star. If the music improved if could easily become a 5 star place and a must in GVAs life."

"I have mixed feelings about this club.

On the potisive side, it's one of the only clubs in town where they don't kill you on prices, and where the ages are (usually) not teens.

On the other hand, their door policy is random (at best) with some hints of skin color making a difference. And inside the club it's boiling."

"once you get in there it can be nice as long as you stay in the bar area. upstairs is so warm and moist that you can only survive by trying to be as close to the AC as possible. i am not a fan of the music.

what i really don´t like is the attitude of the bouncers. the way they treat you is absolutely horrible. i think they are not very fond of expats and that´s why the treat the people that way.

if you are going to SIP, never ever ever ever talk to somenone who got bounced it will reduce your chances of getting in by 98%. sad isn´t it."

"I like the place. the entrance is free. True, the door policy is random, no big groups (i don't know about skin color differences). I like the atmoshpere in the bar area and the prices are affordable. Upstairs the music level changes randomly, with some really nice evening and some really bad ones. But overall it's easy, commercial music, lots of 80ies and 70ies disco and party songs, and the latest hit. No house, no trance, nothing too extreme. It's indeed pretty warm, but i still haven't found a club in geneva that isn't, at least when it's packed."

"Horrible place. Racist, impolite, rude staff, pretentious clientele. The space is georgous but that's the only thing this bar/club has going for it. PS The music in the 'club' floor is no better than XS or other similar."
