When I arrived in Geneva I spent months trying to find someone to style my hair. Geneva is a diverse town, but when it comes to styling African/African American hair, it is not easy to find someone, especially since I don't relax my hair and I don't wear braids or weaves. I also found that moving from New York I found it difficult to find someone who was adept at styling and cutting hair.
I didn't think it would be so hard to find someone who could do a basic wash, roller set and blow out, but finally a friend recommeded Asa at Sunshine Hair Salon.
Asa does a great job roller setting my curly hair and blow drying it straight and the style lasts at least a week, even though I workout pretty much everyday. She is fast and professional and charges a reasonable price. I've only seen her for a wash and set, but I know she also does relaxers and there is someone in the shop who does braids and weaves as well.
Everyone in the shop, including the barber, speaks English as well as French.

I agree, it took me 2 years to find a decent black hair salon in Geneva, until i finally came accross Sunshine Salon. Aza has been doing my hair for 3 years now. Be it relaxing, brading or weaving she does not disappoint. She has great attention to detail and is very professional.

I tried searching on foot, first, then on the web, for a professional salon to provide a wash and set. The only salon for black hair that had consistent great reviews was Sunrise Hair Care Salon. I took a leap of faith - especially since I know that Black women do not compromise on quality hair work and made a visit to the store. It's not trendy or ritzy, but clean, has a pleasant staff (Aza, Natasha and a young gentleman) who are attentive to your needs and professional. I've already had one appointment at Sunrise and have another one later this week. I walked away feeling like this was the best part of being in Switzerland because I got exactly what I wanted and at a reasonable price. I am truly happy with the end result. Keep it up Team Sunrise.

Very professional, excellent service, timely, and pleasant. I have been getting my hair washed, blown dry and flat ironed here for the last couple of years by Natasha (Asa is excellent too!) while living in Geneva. My sons have also gone here for haircuts, and Rama is an excellent barber. Very positive experience; highly recommended.
I also get my haircut from this salon. The also offer a fidelity card which give you a free haircut after the 12th visit.
