!** A Gentle Autumn Ramble** !(Non Cardio!)
Sunday, October 21st, 2018 @ 14:00
outskirts of Montreux, Lausanne
A gentle walk from Burier, just near Montreux,to the area around Clarens and Chailly. We start at the Japanese garden in Burier, walk down to the port and along the lake, before going uphill (gently) to the villages of Tavel and Chailly, before descending gently to get the train back from Clarens (where we can get a well earned drink /snack or both)
Our walk will take us past pretty villages, grand villas, twisting country paths, mountain streams,a little hilltop castle...and loads of lovely autumn colours.
PS.This is nothing like the fairytale landscape we saw last time,as it is between suburb/lake/edge of town. But it is still lovely in parts.
Nothing fancy, just one of my favourite egde-of-urban walks :-)
It takes about 2 hours at most - plus time for drinks and a chat at the end :-)
You don't need to be a hiker but half of the walk is uphill (well, this IS Switzerland after all) so you need the minimum level of stamina.
We will meet at Burier station,on the lake facing side, and set off from there.Full details nearer the time to those who sign up.No poles needed :-)
