Bern not, Lausanne
Let’s go to Bern and float along the River Aare!

BASIC INFO: Please read before signing up.

This will involve a 2 kms walk, a swim down the river back to the starting point, another 2 kms walk, a swim down the river back to the starting point, repeat as many times as we want.

It’s for good, confident swimmers. If you’re not 100% about your ability, hire a lifejacket, floatation device or bring a lilo, or any other type of rubber ring, but remember you will be carrying it for 2kms before entering the water.

We walk 2kms from Freibad Marzili down to the Eichholz Camping – enter the water there and float back to Freibad Marzili. We can do this all afternoon!!

More info here:

11h00: Freibad Marzili (open air baths). This is JUST the meeting place.

There are a couple of parking spots around the area. Find a spot and make your way to the baths entrance.

If you want to get the train, there is a 09h20 from Lausanne – arriving Bern @ 10h26 and you can walk 15 mins (900 metres) to the baths. Not recommended as there will be nowhere to store your stuff and you’ll be going home wet, on the train…..

Sun Screen & (waterproof) hat
Swimming stuff
Waterproof bag to store your valuables
Waterproof camera bag
Flip flops or jelly shoes (for walking along the river to the entry point)
Floatation device (if you’re not confident about “free-floating”)

As a courtesy to your fellow glocals, please be on time - We won’t wait if you’re late – text me if you have queries – 079 834 7292
