Let’s Hike!!

Weather will be okay on Sunday – so let’s do the lovely Gorges de la Jogne up to Charmey Village. 15kms/300m up/300m down.

NB: No dogs unless they've come before and are kept on a lead, particularly through the Gorge.

ROUTE/PLAN:

We park near Broc (see Meeting Point and Directions below), hike UP 200metres, through the Gorges de Jogne, arrive at the Lac Montsalvens, cross the dam then walk round the lake and UP into the village of Charmey (another 100 metres up). There are some steep steps but all manageable.

No dogs unless on a lead, particularly through the Gorge.

We will have (a late) lunch outside the Coop (nicer than it sounds! There’s a kid’s playground where we can sit ). The Coop is open on Sundays.

Hike back, through another village and down through the woods back to the parking.

THE ONE AND ONLY MEETING POINT:

11h00 - Parking "Gorges de la Jogne".

Drive through the village of Broc, over all the roundabouts and exit the village in the direction of Juan/Charmey. 5 mins later, there's a sign for "P - Gorges de Jogne" on the right. We meet at the bottom of the track.

BRING:
Picnic Lunch (or buy something at the Coop in Charmey)
Layers - check the weather and come prepared.
Walking poles
GOOD hiking shoes, parts of the path WILL be slippery
Change of footwear, particularly if you're car sharing ;-)
