Weather not permitting, the meeting will be organized virtually.

The 1930s were a significant cultural decade, linked to the Great Depression in the Western world, the inter-war reality in Europe, a global enchantment with the possibilities of Marxism, the Golden Age of Hollywood, as well as many other distinct regional realities.

Format:

Part 1: book club participants bring forward a book written during or/about the period in question, on any topic that was defining for the decade in the country that it was published.

Part 2: participants will vote to select one book to be discussed in one of the upcoming book discussion meetings.
