Stroll 139: along the Rhone
Saturday, September 5th, 2020 @ 12:30
, Geneva
The first stroll since February... as you know you need to wear a mask in public transport. Please respect social distance and do not attend if you have Coronavirus symptoms. Maximum 20 participants.
We will meet at platform 5 of Cornavin (main) station at 12h35 and take the local RER train leaving at 12h48 to the last stop, La Plaine - arriving at 13h07 (the usual 3 CHF Geneva public transport tickets are also valid in this train).
(You can also join at La Plaine but iit takes some time to get back there after the walk.)
We will walk along the Rhone, passing by the mouth of the Allondon river and then along the small lakes of the Teppes de Verbois natural reserve. We cross the river at the Verbois dam and continue along the other side, going through the Moulin-de-Vert reserve. We will then make our way towards Bernex, to take a bus and tram back into town.
The hike is about 12.5 km and almost flat. Take food and drinks along for a picnic - plus something to sit upon. We will take it easy and walk for about 2 1/2 hours. Expect to be back in town by 17h30.
Maximum 20 participants - only register if you are sure to attend.
Dogs are welcome but should be kept on a leash.
I will not be online on Friday during the day, will respond to any messages in the evening.
cheers,
Bert
