Using extraordinary, epoch-defining moments from the history of science (the first exact solution to the equations of general relativity, the creation of two equivalent yet opposed versions of quantum mechanics, the initial alchemy of Prussian Blue) Benjamín Labatut plunges us into exhilarating territory between fact and fiction, progress and destruction, genius and madness.

A work of fiction based on real events, a 2021 award-circuit darling for works in translation, Labatut's book is compact and potent as a capsule of cyanide. The question is: will it make for an engaged discussion at the GVA international book club?

Note: reading the book is not a "must" to attend the meeting.
