Le Chasseron

From the café at Les Rasses we ascend an easy trail past the Pierre de la Paix (http://www.chasseron.ch/pierrePaix.php) to Le Chasseron with excellent 360° views of the Alps from Mont Blanc to the Eiger and the Jura. We lunch at the summit restaurant. We descend a ridge to the café at Les Cluds. There are no vertiginous passages.

• Have you done any comparable outings recently?
• Have you used snowshoes?
• An email address you read on the weekend.
• Will you eat lunch in the summit restaurant? (I need to make a reservation.)
• Your mobile number.
• Are you fully vaccinated?
This is an International Ski Club of Geneva (SCIG) hike.

To bring: hiking boots, snowshoes or mini spikes (the trail may be icy in places), collapsible hiking pole(s), snack, water, hat, warm clothes, sunscreen and sunglasses.

Elevation gain/ loss: ±450 m
Distance 8 km
Walking time: About 3-4 hours

In case of snow/rain: The hike will be cancelled in case of bad weather. Bill will send an email with a decision midday the day before the hike.
• The hike leader is not a professional guide.
• By registering, you agree that you are fit for this level of hike and/or that you have previously participated in a moyen hike with SCIG.
• By registering, you confirm that you carry insurance against accidents and mountain rescue, in particular helicopter rescue operations. (See REGA: https://www.rega.ch/en/home.aspx) Check with your employer to see if you are properly insured. The Hike Leader and SCIG disclaim any and all liability for accidents related to this hike.
• In public transport masks are obligatory.
