NEXT DISCUSSION : Does being in a relationship compromise your sense of self?

The idea of a couple is so diverse (splintered) that the shared goal of unity, wholeness, or learning about oneself seems obsolete. Each one being what he/she is, in the name of what he/she is, it is as if an imperative of freedom is claimed in the name of freedom itself (even in the name of respect) and where, finally, the being in itself and its expression make force of law and truth.

Do YOU actually exist when you are in a relationship?
Do we need to destroy the other in order to exist oneself or to unite with him/her?
Do we need to suffer the difference or do we enjoy the completeness?
Do we need to change the other or learn from him/her what we lack to be complete?
Does holding oneself in intimacy over a certain period of time risk compromising/altering the sense of self?
Can one love without altering the other, and without being altered by it?
Assuming that sharing intimacy is to transform oneself, should one guide one's transformation, or be transformed without resistance?

ORGANIZATION:
Nathalie's get-togethers are set up to encounter other people's thoughts while sharing and questioning international/local news or philo/psycho subjects in a convivial atmosphere. All topics can be put on the table, as long as people stay courteous and respectful with each other’s ideas in order to get the most stimulating and enriching exchange.
