For Sunday July 9, If the weather is ok, I planned to organize a circular hike to Pointe Noire de Pormenaz 2323 m. This singular summit in Haute Giffre, offers a particular view (360 °) especially on the Mont Blanc massif ….

We start from Lac Vert 1270 m, Go up through the forest to Châtelet and Souay, we take the Chorde trail (ladder and cable) to Lac De Pormenaz 1945m.Then via rocky and stony ridges we arrive at the summit.

Bac to Pormenaz lake (where we can swim) and down by Argentières Vally to Souay. From there by same way to parking.

Elevation gain about 1100m. length about 11 km. Maximum 12 sporty hikers.

Appointment: 7:30, at Veyrier-Douane, final stop of bus n° 8. Restoration is obligatory.

To bring: Good Mountain boot, warm-cold and rain clothes, stick, glove, hat, drink, picnic. …..

There is a participation fee of 5 Euro for a daily license (PassDecouvert) of the French hiking federation FFRP.
Passengers in the vehicle pay directly to the driver € 0.10 per km.
