Dear All, Yes, we run even if it rains “cats & dog”… Victor Roethlin, (the Swiss marathon champion) can unfortunately not meet up with us (blame it on me, I send the request too late) as he is off to his training camp for three months in Kenia in Jan. 2009 and he has some other commitments before that. But we are working on a suitable date towards the end of autumn 2009. Dear all,
I am completely new in Geneva. But I would love to join you for running and I am very much interested in the Mongolian 2009 challenge. At what time will you be running tomorrow morning and where do you meet?
Best
Undine

Hi Jennifer, Nice to see that someone is available for a run near Nyon. In fact, I live in Nyon and cannot join the group's training in Geneva so I would be very happy to run with you in Nyon!! Just drop me a line if you are interested ( I am not available on Saturday mornings and on Wednesdays afternoon but could do it the rest of the working days as from 18:30 -19:00) Looking forward to hearing from you soon Rosa

Dear Undine, Welcome to GVA. Would be just cool to meet to you too Our meeting point is for all our runs; in front of Bain des Paquis (Quai du Mont Blanc / Quai Wilson) Saturday’s : 10am (we tend to go for longer runs, 10 to 15km ?) Mon & Wed : 7pm (5 to 10km ?) After the runs we tend to go for a drink, sometimes for a fondue on Wed. eve at Bain des Paquis, this Saturday we plan to have breakfast / or just a tea or coffee again at Bain des Paquis. …we are not only runners, we socialize too… Looking forward to meeting YOU – any other runners are more than welcome to join us too, no need to sign up. As to Mongolia, this will be such a great event. “If you can dream it – you can do it!”

Dear All, Wow, the Geneva Marathon training group is growing, which is wonderful news. More and more people are coming out, great turn out on Monday & Wednesday evenings, even on Saturday morning. I have now almost 60 people on my e-mail list. This is just amazing, and we runners have become GREAT friends too. Guys you rock, thanks sooo much! By now the “non runners” know where to find us, Bain des Paquis after 8pm or even “the Grand Duke Pub”, on Saturday morning it’s Bain des Paquis for breakfast or tee/ coffee after 11h30. Ok, I have to admit it, I sort of suffer from the “after Marathon blues” (too much partying and so on ) – well, I’m on my way to get “my act” together again. Some of us run the Escalade on Dec 6th, … then our second GVA marathon is on our list (May 10th, 2009) and soon afterwards it’s Mongolia. Have a great day and see you Saturday morning, as usual 10am in front of Bain des Paquis.

Hello,
I am sure quite a few of us are taking part in the Escalade on Saturday.
I will be in the Walking event, starting at 8h30 in Veyrier, and expect to arrive by 9h25 in Bastions. I will be watching the other races for most of the dates, trying to spot and encourage other glocals.
Have fun!
Bert

My plans have changed! I was supposed to be going to Thailand on Friday for work, but that's been cancelled (for the obvious reasons) So.......I am now going to be around this weekend, and would like to get involved in the Escalade. It's too late to sign up I think, but can someone give me a quick précis of what's happening on Saturday and when? Is anyone going to watch/hang out/shout encouragement and drink vin chaud? suse

A few Glocalers and myself will be running/walking the Marmite at 6:30pm (in pyjamas!). We will meet for vin chaud or other drinks at 5pm under the big tent in Parc des Bastions. Feel free to join us.
