Night hike with sunrise
What a great event this night..... Finding us at 3am in Caux and it started raining allready....but Julian said a couple of hours befor that the weather would be great. So, we all believed him!! (things not to do!!) As further we went - the rains started to get more and more heavy....and endet finally in a tundersturm....

But I mean, what could be more usual as having 18 people hiking in the middle of the night, getting weat and having cold? But our good humour has also been on that journey and so we had lots of laugher and for sure- nobody will forget this experience! So, no sunrise on the top (for the people who went to the top - which has been only a few) but staying at 5am in a tunnel, waiting until the rain stops!! lol

What a silly night!! Thanks Julian for your great idea and just in case - for the next event - we are all checking the weather befor and not believe you anymore :-)

well, as it happens, i checked the weather before, but i still believed Julian :) and i wasn't sorry ... only a bit cold and soaked (and discovered that my waterproof coat was not that waterproof)

i also managed to take some pictures (with a flash;) ) but it was so dark that the pictures are all the same - black.

anyway, i was glad i did it, and i'm sure this crazy funny hike will stay for long on the top of the craziest things i've done in Switzerland!

huddling up in that train tunnel was hysterical!!! and the fact that the advanced group dared to do the whole climb?! :hehe: great workout though, and nice to see familiar faces and meet a few new ones as well!

next time.......weather.com, and we shall definitely bring out the orange juice and champagne post hike!

Hmmm, yes, weather.com and I'd highly recommend a "Tullia.com" as well.  Hey, Tullia, if you're reading this - huge thanks for getting us to the top (I think!:w00t:) although I was getting rather attachd to hanging onto a tree branch, over a sheer drop in the middle of an electric storm.  Hey, when Julian thinks you're a "star" - you know you've reached another galaxy!

Job done!

Bro - thanks for getting me down (again!x)

And I've never been more in love with a tumble drier as I was getting back to Montreux - Thanks James!

having just read this, maybe the statement on my meteor shower event should not say
" this is a julianT supported event "

but the weather report says clear and sunny on the tuesday.
if it is bad weather we won't even attempt to see the skies.

epicure

People People PEOPLE!!! You're splitting my
side from laughing so hard!!!  /(^o^)For those veterans who read my
review of JT's first midnight hike, you know all too well how funny the above reads. And to all
recent members since "Break-O-Dawn" 2007, it's too bad it rained on you. Nothing worse
than hiking in rain, but at least you went up the 'easy' way up rather than the wrong way up
straight up the cliffs on slippery conditions after days of rain preceding the
hike.
And on this note Julian, an early Happy
Birthday mate!!! I'm sure one of these years you'll have a clear night with a perfect
sunrise!!
