Cape Town Habitat for Humanity build + 2 Oceans Marathon

Now accepting applications: "Ultra" Cape Town Habitat fo Humanity Global Village Build, Easter 2012! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ultra-Cape-Town-Habitat-for-Humanity-Build-Easter-2012/137829672984720

Wow...2012 is fast approaching! Let's talk about New Year's resolutions- do you plan to make 2012 the year you prioritize helping others? Challenge yourself? Give back? Travel? Get fit? Go on a grand adventure? Add awesome new friends to your life? Get back to nature? Find inspiration? Share your gifts and talents? Become part of a service-minded community? Lead by example?

We’re taking on the challenge of Building Houses and Hope to the next level by combining a week long build AND the exciting events of the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town, South Africa! If seeing images from the 2010 World Cup celebration that showed the unity of purpose and joy that is possible in South Africa sparked your interest in the Rainbow Nation, and you would like to take on the personal challenge of a long-distance run along the beautiful and dramatic Cape of Good Hope, this is the Global Village build you’ve been dreaming of! In addition to the Ultra Marathon (56k) or Half Marathon (21k), you can choose to participate in the International Friendship Run (5k), Trail Runs or a more relaxed and easy 5K and 2.5k fun walk/run. Running events start on Friday, April 6th (International Friendship Run) and are not officially included in the HFH GV build team activities.

Our team will also take on the challenge of building an entire home during our week-long build in the Mfuleni Township. We will have to work hard to complete the project, but as Nelson Mandela said, “There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than you are capable of living.”

Non-runners are welcome, and no prior construction experience is necessary. Just bring a great attitude and a willingness to work hard. If you are ready to step up to the challenge, join our team to Cape Town, South Africa.

Join us and live your dreams, while making the dream of a safe and decent home come true for a deserving family in South Africa! Got questions? Ready to DO THIS?!?! Race events are quick sell-outs and it's a good time to book flights- so don't delay!
