Swiss does NOT fly Geneve/Budapest from Autum/Winter / PETITION

Deal Fellow Hungarians and also the ones who fly from Geneve to Budapest (i.e. ILO people),

Swiss has decided to cancel the only daily direct flight from Geneve to Budapest they have operated.

It seems that there will be only a possibbility to fly via Zurich 3 times a day but as we all know flyig via Zurich takes at least 1-1,5 hour more and there are issues with the luggage handling in Zurich when the connection is not long enough.

So, we are trying to pull together a petition requesting the restoration of the flights.

I will post additonal details where and how we will organize the petition but if you have any idea, anybody who is also affected by this issue, please let me know.

We will reach out to the Hungarian UN Mission as well, probably Wizzair HQ as they moved from Budapest to Geneve and do not have their own flights opeated from Geneve.

Thanks a lot for your co-operation and ideas.

Kind regards,

Reka

I guess they stopped it because it was not profitable. So no petition will help, because the people signing it will be the same people who did fly with them already, but they prob needed more..

Well theres always a train. It will take you a full day but its a beautiful ride through Austrian Alps, if you book it in advance you can get a first class ticket for less than 100 euro, and there is no baggage restriction.

Yes, and when the overbook so much that you have to take another flight the 2-3 day after, you will loose your entire weeked....good idea.

It happened to me, got my money back in 2 months after making a report to the Swiss board..

They refused to pay back saying we all who could not take the flight refused to accept the next available flight within 24 hours...the one day offered was 3 days later....

Happy flight with easyjet. I will not ever again.

The flights were almost always full, so this is not the real reason.

and you may have the time to loose with trains but I dont...I travel so much on business that when I go home for me it is important to have a direct flight.

Guess for you going with a train is a nice trip to leave Geneve...Wink

I have heard of some nightmare journeys with Easyjet but then again I've heard that with practically every airline - even Swiss.

I use Easyjet at least once a month to go back to the UK and I can honestly say I've had more delays with Swiss. Once you get used to fact that Easyjet are always 30 minutes late taking off, you plan your journey and airport time accordingly.
