Drinks and Jazz again! Like last week, let's meet at the Jazzzelt at the Hotel Innere Enge. Entrance is free, and the concert is from 7:45 to 8:30, and again from 9:00.
Useful infos:
- for those who don't have time to eat before coming, there's food (warm dishes and sandwiches)
- bring cash, as they don't take any kind of credit card

To get there: From the train station, take bus 21 towards Bremgarten, and get off at Innere Enge (approx 5 min). No table is booked this time, theres was plenty of space last week.  There's new people every week, so don't be shy!

SWISS-BRITISH SOCIETY, BERNE TALK and READING by prize-winning Irish writer CLAIRE KEEGAN

Wednesday 28 May 2014 at 19.30 in Le Cap (above French Church), Predigergasse 3, Berne

The Irish writer, Claire Keegan, who will also be appearing at this year’s Solothurner Literaturtage, was born in 1968 and grew up on a farm in Wicklow. Her first collection of short stories, Antarctica, announced her as an exceptionally gifted writer of contemporary fiction and was awarded the Rooney Prize for Literature. Her second collection, Walk the Blue Fields, was published to enormous critical acclaim in 2007, while her recent novella, Foster (2010), won the prestigious Davy Byrnes award, the world’s largest prize for a story. Beautiful, sad and eerie, it is a work of astonishing emotional depth, revealing Keegan’s great accomplishment and talent.

You are very welcome to join her for this special event, which is being held under the auspices of the Swiss- British Society, Berne and SATE (the Swiss Association of Teachers of English).

Entrance free, but a contribution of CHF 10.- towards costs would be much appreciated.
