Since 2009, for six weeks each summer on the lake-facing lawn of the Museum of the History of Science near the Perle du Lac restaurant, CinéTransat has shown movies outdoors Thursdays through Sundays.

Previous years have seen movies such as Back to the Future, Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, Good-bye Lenin, 4 Weddings and a Funeral, Blues Brothers, Black Cat/White Cat, Beetlejuice, short films made by film students in Switzerland, Billy Elliot, Flashdance, Casablanca, Shawshank Redemption, Priscilla - Queen of the Desert, etc.

This year's program includes Fame, Monty Python's The Life of Brian, Singin' in the Rain, The Kid, Rocky, Thelma & Louise, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, among many other great movies.

They have theme evenings (usually Saturdays), in which people are invited to dress up as characters from the movie or compete in little competitions, such as the best picnic spread best befitting the movie.

The movies start just after sundown, but people usually get there quite early to reserve a space, to lay out, go swimming, socialize, have a picnic, etc.

VERY IMPORTANT: Especially for the early weeks, it can get really cold!!! Please bring warm clothes, blankets, etc. *just in case*. Nothing worse than freezing your butt off with "only" 20 minutes left of the movie.
