This is our first meeting to try out the creation of a new discussion group which will be run along the lines of the Café Philo, which was held in Lausanne over several years.

Discussions in the past covered such things as "What is the value of work?", "Why marry?" , "What is `a good life`?" ,"How can we justify keeping animals as pets?" All opinions are listened to and participants are encouraged to come with an open mind - and be prepared to discover that they might find themselves changing long-held opinions ( as I have in some meetings).

The first meeting will be at my home in Clarens as,until we have a substantial number of interested people,it will be difficult to organise a public venue that is suitable.In the future, depending on people who are interested,meetings could be held in Lausanne or Vevey - even in people's homes if participants are willing to host.
We will have about one and a half hours for our first meeting.
Participants who commit to coming will receive my address and phone number nearer the day.
My home is 5 minutes' walk from Clarens station .
Space is limited so I will ask you to only sign up for this meeting if you are sure you will come.
I can provide tea and water and some snacks - if you wish to bring something else, feel free.
