Live Mindfulness - From What to How: 28 September 2011

A very big thank you to everyone for a warm, friendly, fun
and risk-taking evening!

Everyone threw themselves in completely to the practices
of awareness and being in the present moment.

In some moments, we were observing our thoughts and emotions
and even becoming a hug itself!

A special thanks to Nathalie for leading the participation skill
of becoming a hug, as if everything was simply this – nothing else!

We were simply being in the moment without cutting anything out.
And that’s really what mindfulness is all about.

Please add your personal readings at this event to this post.

Many of you expressed an interest to learn more about mindfulness
and to practice on a regular basis. We will be announcing a weekly
closed group and will post details shortly.

See the event photos at:

You can down-load your personal copy of the evening photos from:

Thanks again for all your enthusiasm. It was a real pleasure.

Best wishes,
David and Isabel

My personal reading...

TILICHO LAKE

In this high place
it is as simple as this:
leave everything you know behind.

Step toward the cold surface,
say the old prayer of rough love
and open both arms.

Those who come with empty hands
will stare into the lake astonished.
There, in the cold light
reflecting pure snow,

is the true shape of your own face.

The music played during the Mindfulness in Threes practice
is JLTF from Moby's Wait For Me album.

JLTF Lyrics

We heard the rain on the window
Like a sinful waste of time
We heard the sirens' wailing
Like the world had lost its smile
We spend our days together
Hiding far from everything
Oh we knew it was over
When the summer turned to spring

All the words we said
All the time we spent
Does it mean nothing
Does it mean nothing

Hi Everyone,

It was a pleasure to meet you all. I very much enjoyed our sessions
and look forward to see you soon at a next event.

Here is my personal text:

The Well of Grief

Those who will not slip beneath
the still surface on the well of grief

turning down to its black water
to the place that we can not breathe

will never know
the source from which we drink
the secret water cold and clear

nor find in the darkness
the small gold coins
thrown by those who wished for something else

Thank you both for your generosity and knowledge!

I enjoyed the session immensly, looking forward to the next

sessions.

Can you recommend a book or two on the subject, so I can prepare and practice more, please?

On unrelated subject, what do you think of lucid dreaming to help explore ones subconscience and unconscience and self in general? Have you practiced this yourself?

Many thanks for your encouraging comments!

I have compiled a list of references on mindfulness
- books, links and YouTube videos.

You can down-load the references document from:

https://files.me.com/dcalawson/fwnkfi

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreams by Stephen LaBerge
looks interesting and has had excellent reviews but I’ve yet
to read it myself!

The technique is simple and enlightening at the same time.
just to share, i practices 'Mindfull of 3" while doing my meditation and i can tell you, it helps me immensly to cleanse the mind while meditating and this i never had a way to do in the past, now i believe i have a path..
