Live Mindfulness - Participating & Becoming: 30 June 2011

A very big thank you to everyone for a warm, friendly, fun
and risk-taking evening!

Everyone threw themselves in completely to practices of
acceptance that in turn opened us.

In some moments, we were hot potatoes and even laughter itself
- simply being in the moment without cutting anything out.
And that’s really what mindfulness is all about.

Please add your comments on the event to this post:

-What you appreciated
-What could be improved
-What future topics you’d like covered

See the event photos at:
http://www.glocals.com/#/photos/events_photos/36827/

You can down-load the evening photos from:

Thanks again for all your enthusiasm. It was a real pleasure.

Best wishes,
David

First of all, a great thanks to you David and Isabelle for organizing this evening!

I completely confirm the above David and have felt a positive energy from the group which I believe is just great and very motivating!! I think also it's a good idea to accelerate to another level with a number of people who join on a regular base. Peter

Thanks Peter. What was really fabulous is that everyone threw themselves
into the practicing whether they liked it or not and noticed a difference.

In our participating practices, the task was to become one with the entire room, which means that everyone was supporting everyone else, which certainly happened. I think Isabel's laughter really helped here!

The single biggest problem with mindfulness is that it's actually a lot of work.
It requires practice,practice and practice.

For this reason, we'll be announcing a new series of weekly closed meetings for glocals members who would like to learn six core mindfulness skills in depth.

These skills will be divided into two types that capture what you do and how you do it to fully participate in each moment with complete awareness.

More details will follow shortly.

My text for the reading practices we started off with.

"But the great thing is the here and now, this is the eternal moment.
And if you do not realize it, you have missed the best part of your life.

You will have missed the realization that you are the carrier of a life
contained between the poles of an unimaginable future and an
unimaginably remote past.

Millions of years and untold millions of ancestors have worked up to this moment.

Anything that is past is no longer reality; anything that is ahead is not yet reality.

Reality is now...

Therefore in our psychology, in the life of the individual, it is of the greatest importance that we never think of the situation as merely now, with the hope of something coming in the future.

You may be sure it will never come if you think like that.

You must live life in such a spirit that you make in every moment the best of possibilities."

--Jung, Interpretation of visions, vol. 6, pp 103-104

Thanks Mr.David Lawson...

It was pleasure to be a part of it...Lokking much forward to the Future events.

And Thanks to Ms.Isabelle too...I t was nice laughter with you.

I am posting my text for reading practice: Laughing

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream

-Mamma Mia! Movie - I Have A Dream

And Thanks for posting the your text---I just love it.

Keep Smiling

Hope to join in next event soon

Expert on Mindfulness Reveals Her Own Fight

Dr Marsha Linehan is one of the pioneers and leaders in the field
of Mindfulness. Her material is marketed through the not-for-profit
organisation, Behavioral Tech. http://bit.ly/mHRNUB

In this New York Times article, Marsha explains for the first time
her own fight with emotional distress and how she conquered
her demons.

“So many people have begged me to come forward, and I just thought — well, I have to do this. I owe it to them. I cannot die a coward,” said Marsha M. Linehan, a psychologist at the University of Washington.

Thank you David and Isabelle for a great evening.

You both share your techniques in such a clear and practical way.

We are lucky to have this kind of awareness in Geneva.

Met some super people.

Would love to join you for the 8 week series in September and will tell others who I know will be delighted to come too.

Here is my reading below.

Our material universe works because it is the perfect symphony of natural laws and order. Our moral universe is sustained by its perfect balance as well. As you work to manifest prosperity, always remember that the environment and conditions are not stacked against you. Quite the contrary…

The vacuum law of prosperity works because nature abhors a vacuum. Likewise, in the spiritual world, disharmony is annulled. In between the yin and yang, earthquakes and summer showers, getting passed up for a promotion and finding your true love, there is always the eternal harmony, the inviolable justice.

Now many people feel there is injustice in the world. And there is, yet there isn’t. Because what may appear to be injustice always sorts itself out in the cosmic wash. The criminal celebrating his ill-gotten gains is oblivious to the hole is his bucket.

How you view the world colors everything…

The man who thinks no one is to be trusted and that everyone is out to cheat him attracts what he thinks about. The lady who believes in the inherent good of the universe finds all the evidence she needs to support this view.

You don’t see things as they are. You see them as you are.

So what’s the universe you see?
